Offsite services offered by our Physicians:

Cardiac Catheterization is a procedure that involves the insertion of a catheter (a long, thin, flexible tube) into the body.  The catheter is inserted into a vein or artery and directed toward the heart.  Special x-ray equipment is used to watch the movement of the catheter inside the body.  The catheterization process allows doctors to asses the pumping function of the heart and to examine the coronary arteries and heart valves.  Cardiac catheterization enables doctors to diagnose Coronary Heart Disease, Defective Heart Valves, and Congenital Heart Defects.

Colonoscopies:  The colonoscopy enables our doctor to examine the lining of your colon (large intestine) for abnormalities by inserting a flexible tube into the rectum and colon.  The procedure usually takes 15 to 60 minutes, but the patient should plan on 2-3 hours for waiting, preparation, and recovery.

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy:  This test is to look at your esophagus, stomach, and duodenum to see if there are any abnormalities of the upper digestive tract.  The doctor will use a small, lighted, flexible tube thinner than most of the food you swallow to examine the lining of the upper digestive tract.  Breathing passages are not obstructed and special effort is made to keep you comfortable.  EGD is a safe and very low risk procedure.

Pacemaker Insertion:  A Pacemaker is a small lightweight device that is inserted into the body to monitor the heart's electrical activity and deliver electrical pulses when the heart needs them.  If the pacemaker senses that the heart is beating too slowly or is pausing for too long, the pacemaker stimulates the heart with timed electrical pulses.  This causes the heart to beat in a manner very similar to a naturally occurring heart rhythm.

Sleep Studies:  A sleep study is a painless overnight procedure done on an outpatient basis.  It usually consists of two nights of study; the first for diagnosis and the second for treatment.  We place various monitors that record your brain waves, eye movements, muscle tension, leg movements, heart rate, oxygen level, and breathing throughout the sleep cycle.  These recordings are made by a technician who can hear and see you even though your room is completely dark and private.  Sleep study rooms are furnished much as a hotel room with television available in each room.  While we can sometimes give you preliminary results quickly, the test must be fully scored and evaluated before we call you with results of the test.  This may take 7 to 10 days.
